Aerial Port System Simulation - APSS

U.S. Air Force Military Airlift Command; Scott AFB, IL

The Aerial Port System Simulation (APSS) is a model designed to measure the capabilities and manpower requirements of MAC (Military Airlift Command) aerial ports. The model is generic in that the aerial port parameters are input as data, enabling the model to simulate the operations of nine ports.

The model simulates operations of the passenger processing work center, the baggage processing work center, the passenger reservations center, terminal reservations service, data/records processing, overseas import and export cargo processing, special handling, fleet services, air terminal operations center, and ramp services.

Statistics include manpower utilization, equipment utilization, cargo tonnage handled, number of passengers serviced, and service time histograms for all services performed.
