Logistics Composite Model - L-COM

L-COM is a large-scale model for simulating all major functions of a military aircraft support facility, either land or sea based. This widely used model simulates aircraft operations, incurrence of malfunctions, accomplishment of repair and servicing tasks, interactions of resources in the demand process, changes in personnel availability according to shift policies, and other aspects of total base operations. The user prescribes the levels of detail.

The model includes an analytic sub-model that detects those particular elements contributing to degradation of mission performance. It also determines additional inputs needed to improve performance. The model output gives key performance measures in the functional areas of operations, maintenance and supply. For each functional area, availability and utilization statistics are given for aircraft personnel, spare parts and maintenance equipment.
